Give One Back partners with Steve Newman for Project Rhino KZN

One UP South Africa are extremely proud to reveal the first of our Give One Back campaign partners-Steve Newman & Project Rhino KZN.Steve_newman_Naked_skydive.jpg Last year over 600 rhino's were poached for their horns and this is sadly rising. Steve and his network have been stripping the boundaries of traditional fundraising for the past year and One UP found their unique brave approach truly inspiring!

Steve and his pal Dene Bothman started to make headway with their efforts last year for Project Rhino, part of the African Conservation Trust,  when they stripped naked and sky dived over Cape Town in 10 degree temperatures, raising over R50,000 for the fund and earning Steve the nickname 'The Naked Skydiver'.

Since then, Steve has cycled the Argus Bike Challenge with just a rhino horn to cover his modesty and a handful of cycling supporters, filmed his own Spoofing the Camera, running Kloof Nek naked after stripping out of his aFREAKa rhino onesie, and is currently preparing to run the Two Oceans Marathon with his own twist, all in supporting of protecting the endangered animal.

Our support of Steve and Save the Rhinos means two things: Firstly, we'll be donating 1% of all revenue we generate in April toward Steve's fund raising efforts. Secondly, and more importantly, we'll be getting stuck into actively increasing awareness of Steve's activity, putting together some pretty interesting challenges and video's for you to see what Steve and Rhino Conservation is all about!

Onesie Olympics Challenge

Not one to ever turn down a challenge, we decided to celebrate, in a strange One UP kind of way, Mr Steve Newman jumped at the chance to compete against us in a Onesie Olympics tournament. The Onesie Olympics will be made up of 3 very random but amusing events, decided by some local pals of One UP, and take place in mid-April, which of course you are welcome to come and support! But you won't find traditional hurdles and baton tossing here, this is Onesie Olympics, One UP style. Just wait and see.

Better yet, we'll be putting together some footage for you to enjoy and share, which will help us support Steve and his cause even further! For every View on YouTube the video gets, One UP will add an additional donation to April's Give One Back contribution.

Until then, why not get up close and very personal with Steve in this sky dive highlights video and track his progress on Twitter @JustSteveNewman!
