Rhinos, Nerds, Onesies and Bouncy Castles? Fun Day Friday of course...


The onesie in its very nature is a playful piece that allows us that extra bit of comfort when doing anything from lounging with the better-looking other half, dancing at festivals or man-handling the braai. If there is one thing we certainly find, is that its quite easy to find some fun when donning the hooded jumpsuit. 

With this in mind, One UP felt it was time to share some of fun around and on Friday June 14th, will be heading to charity partner Ubuntu Africa's centre in Khayelitsha with Cape Town's Black Ball Rentertainment for an afternoon of activities and interactive learning.

One UP makes first donation to charity partner Project Rhino KZN

First donation made and Project Rhino meets Ubuntu Africa in Khayelitsha Fun Day

What an epic start to our Give ONE Back charity program and our partnership with Project Rhino KZN. We had sculpting rhinos out of clay whilst parachuting in onesies, 'Grape Expectations' and 'Keep One Up' events from the hilarious onesie olympics and who could forget (or maybe actually remember) selling and pouring numerous shots of Red Stag into the faces of onesie wearers at the WOW Party in Cape Town.

One UP Give One Back with Ubuntu Africa

For those of you out of the loop, at One UP South Africa, giving back is a consideration of everything we do.  Every year, we pledge to partner up with at least 6 different South African based ‘do-gooders’ and help raise awareness and funds for their cause in a very One UP way.  Additionally, for every hundred rand we make through advertising – we put one rand back into bettering South Africa. 

Last month, we had an awesome time with Steve Newman and Project Rhino KZN to help raise the profile of Rhino conservation, the dire truths about our dwindling Rhino population lost to poachers and ways to get involved. Remember the model clay skydive challenge? The Kauai Rhino Run? The Onesie Olympics? Yes, they’re all part of the fun we had whilst giving One Back to Project Rhino KZN.

So, as our time with Steve Newman + Project Rhino KZN comes to a close, we’re very excited to have confirmed our next Give One Back beneficiary, Ubuntu Africa (UBA)
