Kauai challenges rhino supporters to run in aFREAKa onesies
Kauai Rhino Relay sees One UP added to line up to join local stars running for Save the Rhino
As if last week wasnt random enough, with Dene Botha taking on competition winner, Kia, in an old 'rhino-sculpting-whilst-paragliding-in-afreaka-animal-onesies' duel (watch the highlights here), this week seems like it will bring more of the same, with Cape Town onesie brand aFREAKa, Dene and yours truly getting involved in another round of rhino protection support.
On Friday 12th of April, Kauai South Africa are running, literally, the Kauai Rhino Relay event. Starting in the early hours from Blue
Route Mall a collection of DJ's, actors, sports stars, rhino conservation activists and Team One UP will be making the dash between 5 different Cape Town peninsular Kauai stores, finishing up at Kauai V&A Waterfront. As well as Dene Botha, One UP charity partner and local ultra-competitive oke Steve Newman will be getting just his trainers on to support as he knows best!
The event was created set to help raise awareness and donations for Save the Rhino International, the cause Kauai Marketing guru Diane St Clair Moor is running the London Marathon in aid of in just a few weeks time.
An event supporting rhino's wouldnt be complete of course without a few strategically placed aFREAKa rhino onesies, so selected runners will be suiting up to ensure you know exactly who the collaborating members are running for!
Now the important part - how you fit in. Here is how you can support:
1. Head to Diane's Virgin Money Giving page and make a small donation if you can to Save the Rhino International. Simply follow this link here and the easy instructions.
2. Head to one of the five Kauai stores on Friday and buy a Save the Rhino badge for just R5. You can check the participating stores below.
3. Share this page with a friend and show them how people all over South Africa are working creatively to help worth causes and slow down the disgusting behaviour of poachers that last year claimed the lives 600 of these magnificient creatures in South Africa last year alone.
We all have a responsibility to help, please take a stand.
Thanks to One UP partners aFREAKa for supporting this event. If anyone knows ana event with a twist, it's the guys behind the original Cape Town animal onesie!
