One UP take on Dene Botha in Lions Heads paragliding for Project Rhino
The time has arrived. Our very first One Challenge episode, and it couldn't be more random and awesome! The episode kicks off with One UP's and aFREAKa's support of Project Rhino KZN at Cape Town landmark Lions Head and goes a little something like this:
1. Rhino Conservation activist and former pro surfer, Dene Botha, will paraglide down Lions Head at the same time as onesie fan and our competition winner, Kia Thorsen, both accompanied by a legend instructor from sponsors Cape Town Tandem Paragliding.
2. Both of them will be dressed in animal onesies from the cool cats at aFREAKa and will be filmed by the Cape Town Tandem Paragliding Go Pro cameras to capture the action and reactions.
3. Here is where it gets interesting. If anyone knows different activities & events in Cape Town, its @CapeTown, and to give this particular event some added spice, they've set Dene and Kia a challenge om the way down: Model and shape their own rhino out of clay!
The challengers will have around 5 minutes of air time to model their own African big 5 beast whilst spinning, gliding and diving above Camps Bay with their professional Cape Town Tandem Paragliding instructor. We'll then post up the resulting sculptures after landing on the One UP Facebook and you can choose the winner! Whichever challenger gets the most comments at 5pm wins!
Feel free to come down and see the finished pieces for yourself at Bungalow, Clifton Beach 1 from 2:30pm and grab a drink with One UP and aFREAKa and meet our contestants. One UP will also have a challenge you can do yourself with Cape Town Tandem Paragliding next week when we post the video.
Good luck guys and thanks to Dene, Cape Town Tandem Paragliding & @CapeTown for supporting Project Rhino KZN & the One UP Challenge!
